Default Snelmodelleren #57 Speed Modelling #57

Voor deze week een wat lastiger opdracht en dus ook wat meer tijd beschikbaar, een mensachtig figuurtje met niet meer dan 1000 polygonen.

Maximum modelleertijd is 5 uur; werp voor de regels eventueel nog eens een blik op http://www.c4dlounge.eu/forum/showthread.php?t=6253

Post een klei render en draadmodel (met eventueel tussenversies) in deze draad.

For this week a somewhat more difficult task and hence a little more time available, a humanoid character with not more than 1000 polygons.

Post a clay render and wireframe (with eventually intermediate versions) in this thread.

Well, this time i did not run out of time, but of polygons - or rather: I ended up using too many of them
1002 polygons, hard stop. I could melt a few quads to n-gons, but that'd be cheating^^
Not an alien this time, but some"body" Victor Frankenstein would be proud of.
2 hours, so I might spend the rest shaping the little guy a bit and giving him a basic rig. He might up ending as my new avatar, around his belly there's quite some resemblance already.

Eerste poging gestopt na 2 uur, want ik zat al ver over de 1000 polygonen. Tweede poging was 4 uur 30 minuten, met tussendoor veel denkwerk. Al met al 942 polygonen, maar 3 vingers, geen tenen, nagels, oren, oogleden, navel of neusgaten.

Ik denk dat ik hier een UV mapje van ga maken en zien hoe er met sculpting nog iets van te redden valt; ook benieuwd hoe zij beweegt.

Dit is eigenlijk de low poly versie van een figuurtje dat wij met onze animatie 2 studenten in de klas maken, maar daar eindigen we meestal rond de 5000 polygonen, wat een stuk makkelijker is.
