Default a Fokker DVD tutorial - a collaboration

Hello everybody,

maybe you remember this thread:http://www.c4dlounge.eu/forum/showth...?t=2240&page=7 about my Fokker Dr1 model. I have started a work on commercial DVD on it and I´m looking for somebody who wants to helm me with EN speaking.

a pipeline will be (is already) next:

I will do a tutorial in EN layout and base EN speaking (in case you want to try it you will get a testing file). I say there everything what must be said, but form itself is not perfect. You will do a new EN speaking and we will collect it together.

About money, every will be solved from our sales (%).

Distribution: this server and DVD

Hey there, Pavel.

Since you already decided to collaborate with somebody else to do the talking, which is a smart decision, you should do it the right way.

Most people here on c4dlounge speak dutch.
Language education in Holland and Flanders is pretty good, so we all seem to get by.

It may not be too hard to find somebody who speaks English better than you do,
but I would strongly advise you to collaborate with somebody who's a native english speaker though.

A good voice over for a tutorial is one you don't notice, don't pay attention to.
All too often paid training videos come with an accent that's hard to understand,
or with peculiar foreign phrasing that draws too much attention away from the actual content.

Even the "better" professional training video suppliers often make that mistake. (Dr. Sassi for Cineversity, Michael Marcondes for cmiVFX, ...). Listening to guys like Tim Clapham or Nick Campbell on the other hand is always nice and easy on the ears.

That's a quality people notice.

So, really, if you want to give your dvd the chance it deserves,
make sure the english is spot-on.

That's that.

cheers,
douwe
EDIT : I've seen your message on cgtalk too. Plenty of people there. Good luck.

Yes, I usually looking for not native speaker becouse they speak slowly a more understable to non EN users. It is my opinion from my own expirience...

But who said it must be in EN only (me?). IN case you want to try a dutch version, do it! :-)

THX for info and support

Interesting.
My argument against non native is your argument pro.

I see where your point of view makes sense.
And I can imagine people with very basic knowledge are better off with slow and dialectless english. It's often easier to understand an accent than a dialect.

Hi Pavel,

If you are still looking, I'm interested.
My native language is Dutch, but just finished working in the UK for about a year.
I think my English is understandable / acceptable.
