With "just primitives an booleans" you managed to get an incredible amount of detail and damage to those pencils, really very good work!!

How about a "the making of.."?

Not a bad idea.

But of course, some displacement in the materials was involved, too.

No prize for the mesh, I suppose, but in this case, the bad mesh actually helps.
