I've just discovered this possibility which I've never seen hinted at anywhere so thought I'd share.

If you're tweaking materials and lights in a scene and you want a running render update but maybe don't want a large Interactive Render Region parked on top of your viewport chugging away every time you touch a setting, try this.

Go Menu > Window > New View Panel to get a new, small viewport. Set up your POV camera and put the IRR in there and it will give a constantly updated thumbnail of how things are changing and because it's small it will render faster than a full size IRR. The new window will sit on top of your main editor window but will allow you to work behind it, or you could dock it or make it a tab beside your Object Manager/Structure Manager.

WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY WITH IRR? RICH
