I've given it some rest, but after two days the nostrils version keeps looking worse to me, so I'm going to stick to the old version. I'm sure it won't be much of an issue in the final animation. In case I do have a change of heart it's fairly easy to add the nostrils back in.

I guess I'm not a big fan of nostrils for this type of nose. I remember I disliked the nose in Alma ( https://vimeo.com/4749536 ), have a look at 1min22sec. The nostrils in combination with the fact that the nose is pointing up (like in my character) gives it a sort of pigs-nose look. I have the same feeling with the nostrils on my character.

I've started working on the older brother. Still a bit of tweaking to do, but I think this is fairly close to what I had in mind.

@Pixelpit: thanks, I do take your comments very seriously and I highly appreciate them, so don't hold back!

@Ren: wow, thanks a lot. I recently stripped and old computer at my parents place where I found my very first Cinema 4D creations, which dated from june 2002. So it's been a long road

Haha, here you go: de allereerste render (oh god, waarom heb ik daar ooit mijn naam ondergezet? ).

Haha, that's true! They had to be nice and pose for the camera I guess.
