Default Child obesity

Started this yesterday for an agency in Germany. Theme is child obesity... well, havenīt got the complete briefing yet... they sounded unsure themselves. Anyway, the idea is that the little guy is craving fastfood - and getting it by the looks of it Began with the model in ZBrush (ZSpheres) and retopo in Topogun. The rest is Cinema. Iīll substitute 2 pizza slices with a hamburger, french fries or the like, when I get around to modeling them. Textures are temporary... for the moment Iīm just fiddling around with Vray shaders. Very much WIP, but let me hear your thoughts. Oh... and the little man is getting hair and clothes eventually. :-)

I read today that the brains of children nowadays react to fastfood logo's
A medical research team put them in an MRI scanner and showed them logo's of Mcdonalds, BMW and so on.

Maybe you can put some helmet on his head with probes and link him to a tv screen?

Thatīs more than interesting! Thanks for the link, Dweemes. Iīll keep your idea in mind (I like it :-)) - not for this piece though - ... client wants a fat child craving fast food.

I think the image is ok, but i would give him a smoother skin, now he seems to have cellulite...
i mean, cellulite has something to do with fat, but in this case he looks a bit odd.

Anyway, if you really want to make him look obese, add some skin, like this one (although this one isn't obese i think)

Ok is half bad in my book... ...

Do you mean the fat rolls? Or the smooth skin? The shaders are preliminary as is -> me playing around in Vray to get to know it better. Anyway, you are right... I had the Idea to make the model clay like a la Aardman. The shader stems from there. I might go for a smooth skin with some nice SSS instead when the model is unwrapped and I get to paint some maps. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated!

Edit: Without bump...

Ah, that reminds me of Russel Boy

In my opinion, your character needs a bit more contrast between the thin parts and fat deposits on the body. Chubby cheeks, legs, belly overlapping with pelvis comes to mind.

Thanks Rich_Art and Telnoi.
Telnoi, you got to love Russel Boy... Fantastic character in all aspects and sooo adorable.
For the contrast, Iīve planned that for a displacement pass. So watch out for man boobs, elastic band wrists and overhanging fat in one of the next revisions. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated :-)

Cleaning up the mesh atm. not quite up to AMF standards as is... :-D
